New Zealand's finest waiting room
Blenheim Railway Station is one of the few surviving vintage type stations built by George Troup. This lovely historic building was unveiled in 1906 and, aside from being moved 40m as part of the State Highway 1 realignment in 2000, the station remains almost unchanged. Originally, sixteen of these beautiful buildings could be seen along New Zealand's railways, built between 1900 and 1908 with Tudor-style half-timbering and featuring large verandahs, tiled roofs and terracotta finials.
Today, the charming Blenheim Railway Station has been transformed into Fidelio, a delightful café and wine bar. Coinciding perfectly with the Coastal Pacific's lunchtime arrival, take the opportunity to immerse yourself in genuine Blenheim's hospitality. Enjoy an exquisite selection of both local and international wines, savour tapas-style dishes, indulge in artisan macarons, and relish the rich flavours of sumptuous coffee, all available right at the station. Give yourself a little extra time to soak in the experience.
